STI INFECTIONS


This post is about other sti infections and the topic will cover the infection which are also STI and these are seen in both Man and Women, but not have drug regime in Syndromic management or colour coded Kits for this it is very essential to know the treatment and diagnosis because patient may visit to the clinic with this STI,s, Some other STI infections are listed as under in detail about their common symptoms, treatment, prevention’s and complication:-


1.Warts
2.Genital Louse Infection
3. Molluscum Contagiosum
4.Genital Scabies

1.Warts:- 

                 Warts look like cauliflower and can be seen in both man and women, these can be in single or multiple soft painless warts may occur around anus, oral cavity, around vagina and the client should avoid sexual intercourse with partner until the treatment is completed and all warty lesions are cleared, if abstinence is possible and the client should use condom correctly and consistently while having sex, and the client should inform the doctor if she is pregnant so that the spread of infection to the new born be prevented.

Treatment:-There is cure for warts because most the client get scared of warts and creates false myths in mind and the client should take proper and full treatment. Local application of 20% PODOPHYLLIN should be repeated weekly till the lesions are cleared and if also not cleared than the warts are treated by Cautery.


Complications:-Certain varieties of warts may cause cervical cancer in women, so the pregnancy status of women is very important to know because Podophyllin is not safe to use during pregnancy.

2.Genital Louse Infection:-

                                         Itching, which leads to scratching near genital area or all over the body and Nits can be seen over the shaft of pubic hair.


Treatment:-

                   There is cure for genital louse infestation provided the client to his/her partner should take proper treatment, The Treatment includes application of Permethrin 1% around the Genital area and washed off after 10 minutes and few cases re-treatment is required after 7 days.

Complication:-

                          Eczematization(an inflammatory condition of the skin characterized by redness, itching), Secondary infection leads to pus formation

3. Molluscum Contagiosum:-

These are multiple soft painless smooth, pearl like swellings and this may appear anywhere on the body/Genital areas and it is acquired due to unsafe sexual contact.

Treatment:-

 There is cure for mollusci provided the client to his/her partner should take proper treatment, The Treatment includes each mollusci is opened with needle (extirpation) and the inner side is touched with 30% TCA (Trichloro Acetic Acid), sometimes the molluscan are treated by cautery.

4.Genital Scabies:-

                              Itching of genitals, at night, other members in the family also have such symptoms, this may appear on any of the body folds, acquires due to unsafe sex practices.
Treatment:-There is cure for scabies provided the client to his/her partner should take proper treatment, The Treatment includes over night application of Benzyl benzonate lotion pr permethrin cream all over the body and bathing next morning is requires.

Complication:-

                        Eczematization(an inflammatory condition of the skin characterized by redness, itching),Kidney damage, Contact dermatitis.

Remember:-

                      all STI infection are caused mostly due to unsafe sexual practice so avoid unsafe sex, always use condom correctly and consistently and if any queries arise visit the sti clinic there the counsellor will give you all the answers of the Questions and always give right, correct information regarding HIV/AIDS and STI/RTI, and all the information given to the counsellor will be kept confidential and not disclose to anyone, so free to visit the sti clinic and in case where sti clinic is not established than go visit to doctor.
