How to take doses of medicines for HIV patients

                          This post will give the information about the doses and medicines which are given to  PLHIV (Peoples Living  with HIV let me clear completely that the medicines or we can say that ART medicines are not the completely Treatment for HIV/AIDS so it gives the patients to live a normal lives as the other normal human beings are living and it will control the virus load in a body which is infected with HIV Virus.

                                          As per the guidelines of NACO and Doctors of ART components after doing CD4 of the patients the ART medicines are given OD,BD,TDS dose but as per the norms if a persons tested for HIV and found Positive than he/she is referred to District Tuberculosis Centre for further test that is AFB Sputum Test coz those who are infected with HIV virus the opportunistic infection which gets is of TB so it is very necessary for HIV positive patient to go for Sputum test and the Doctor of that centre will send Him/her for  CHEST XRAY.



The whole process i will explain it in details First of all the patient will come to Ictc centre for Testing by own will or send by Doctor  he/she will be counselled for pre and post test after getting tested if test result is positive he/she will be send to TB Unit/Center for TB Screening and testing sputum and than getting all the reports collected he/she will be referred to ART Nodal Centre with all the copy of reports and relevant id and proofs there than tested for CD4 and than ART will Starts, in ART centres there also counsellor are working who will counselled him/her in details how the medicines will work and the doses to take and when to visit again after how many days and if any anxiety arouses due to the medicines where to consult at the nearest medical health centres and follow the instructions after one or two month he/she will be familiar with taking the medicines and he/she will be called  monthly or quarterly for CD4 testing. and for medicines monthly he/she has to visit the Link art centres or ART plus centres for collecting medicines for the next months. In Link ART centres ART medicines and some other medicines are also given for opportunistic infections like Cotrimoxazole tablets are given to HIV positive Patients.
