          STI CLINIC its is situated at District hospitals where one STI COUNSELOR is posted who works there under the supervisions of head of the departments where an individual who comes with STI problems are counseled and treated and referred to other centers for HIV Test and VDRL Test (for syphilis) and as per the norms of the SACS treatment and follow-up are done. Where Syndromic management is done with the colour coded Kits for Different STI Symptoms.
 
 

REFERRAL FOR TESTING :

When ever an individual visits the Suraksha clinic with STI problems Pre-Test Counseling is done and identified what problems is acquiring with is send to the Dr for prescriptions OR the Dr will send to the STI CLINIC for Counseling and for further treatment which are in the Guide lines from the STI Clinic he/she is send to General lab for VDRL Test and to ICTC Centre for HIV test.

                                                               Than the test result came out after known the status of the individual in the post-Test counseling starts  in this stage if the result is found positive/Reactive in lab terms, whether in HIV or VDRL Test if the HIV status is Positive than the Counselor of ICTC Centre will perform Counseling and if the VDRL test status is Positive than STI Counselor’s will give Complete information about test results and its treatment also like the name of the medicines which he/she has to be taken or Injection for VDRL REACTIVE(SYPHILIS) the dose of the injection which are in the govt Guidelines to used for such individuals.

TREATMENT PART:

Now in this we will talk about the Treatments for Syphilis infection infected individuals as we all know about the syphilis Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by a type of bacteria known as Treponema pallidum.

Types of Syphilis:
                            Syphilis is divided into four stages Primary Syphilis, secondary, Latent (Hidden), Tertiary Syphilis.

    As per the Guidelines if an individual is infected by Syphilis bacteria than if the VDRL Test result is positive by RPR test kit than the titre is taken out after the test result comes out only than the dose of Injection Benzathine Penicillin is decided.  
The Titre result is always in ratio format like 1:0 or 1:32 like this.
If the titre is 1:0 or less than 1:8 Single dose of injection Benzathine Penicillin G 2.4 million IM stat after penicillin sensitivity TEST is performed And Tab Azythromycin 1gm single dose.
 
For pregnant women only Inj BPG is recommended.
If the Titre comes 1:8=> that is equal or greater than 1:8  Dose of injection Benzathine Penicillin G 2.4 million IM stat after penicillin sensitivity TEST is performed once in a week for three Weeks.
 For pregnant women only Inj BPG is recommended for treatment.
 

Determine BPG Dosage:

 
If the titre is< less than 1:8 of RPR by RPR test method than 2.4m unit of Benzathine Penicillin G(BPG)Intramuscular injection single dose.
                                     In case of sensitiveness or allergic to BPG than Erythromycin500mg/dose orally 4doses/day for 15days or Azythromycin 2mg orally in 1 dose.
 
If the titre is equal to or greater than>=1:8 of RPR test method than three dose of 2.4m unit of Benzathine Penicillin G(BPG)Intramuscular injection weekly for three weeks.
                                          In
case of sensitiveness or allergic to BPG than Erythromycin500mg/dose
orally 4doses/day for 30days or Azythromycin 2mg orally in 1 dose.
